About La Piedra Beach
Popular for both surfing and fishing this sandy beach is accessed by taking a trail down from the parking lot on the bluff. Make sure that you wear footwear suitable for hiking as there is no staircase or handrail, only a dirt and rock path.
A great place to find shells and small sea life in among the rocks and sand it is rarely busy and often very quiet. Not recommended for swimming due to the waves and the tides and of course there are no lifeguards.
Parking in the lot at the top of the cliff is $8 for the day, with a machine that accepts debit cards, but parking along the PCH is also possible for free and adds only a little extra walking.
Try to plan your visit for when the tide is low because during the high tide much of the beach is under water and there is a lot less room to move about.
Above the beach in parts are some private mansions with their own private steps leading down to the beach. These are all locked of course and should be avoided by the public.
As a county beach, La Piedra Beach has Picnic facilities, restrooms, stairs to beach, street parking, parking lot.
With no cafe or restaurant nearby this is more a picnic type of beach so come prepared.
